Day 300 - Dundee India Pale Ale

Ok, I'm back dating this, and actually wish I could take a mulligan on this beer, so much so, I'm not bothering to put a picture up.

I don't think I've had a good one yet from this brewer, and this was my last try that is for sure. It just doens't taste good.

Specs:

Full Name: Dundee India Pale Ale
Brewed By: Dundee Brewing Co
From: Rochester NY
ABV: not on bottle, and seriously even if it were 10%, not worth drinking

Good news is, at least it is saturday night and I can have a 2nd to rinse away the taste of this one... Missed last night as we had aunts/uncles over for dinner and went to Harry Potter and got back after my bedtime (9pm... ;>) )

On to the next!

Day 267 - Oktoberfest

So, this starts the week of all Octoberfest/Seasonal beers, and interestingly, this is probably the best I've had from this brewer. No pic though, as I went stream fishing in western vA today with my dad and Uncle Henry, and all remaining energy is focused on raising the bottle up to drink...

Good, autumn gold color, and easy to drink. Ok, it leans to the sweet side, and hops is a 4 letter word, but when you are just looking to chill, and want a scarecrow on your label, this one works.

Specs:

Full Name: Dundee Oktoberfest
Brewed By: Dundee Brewing Co
From: Rochester NY
ABV: 4.5%

That's it, all energy is depleted, and bottle is empty.

Cheers!

Day 239 - Dundee Pale Ale

A picture of a frog drinking a beer is the central theme to the label for this one. I really should have known that frogs really don't drink much beer, so why would I think that one would promote a good one...

The faded orange color is decent, but at some point you drink it, and then it goes downhill. The best I can come up with is that it tastes like stale saltine crackers.

Specs:

Full name: Dundee Pale Ale
Brewed By: Dundee Brewing Co
From: Rochester NY
ABV: 5.3%

Bummer, I was hoping this might keep the streak of good palies going, but all good runs end sometime, and that creates opportunity for a new one to begin. Here's to tomorrow.

Day 175 - Honey Brown

The thing about taking Elizabeth when I go to fill the pipeline, is that she suggests by the name/label, thus coming down the pike are some scary ones...

This one had the potential to be in that group, I mean, honey and beer is a scary combo. This one actually is tolerable though, as the honey is in the background, and it just kind of smoothes out the lager. Given the name, I was expecting something a bit darker, but it is just a few shades towards the brown from yellow.

Specs:

Full Name: Honey Brown Lager
Brewed By: Dundee Brewing Co
From: Rochester NY
ABV: 4.5%

So, not going to fill up the fridge or drive to NY for this one, but if you are looking for something light that is a bit different, or if you are looking to conserve brain cells, this one is decent. Of course, Chris A might suggest using this one to sober up, but he has a unique approach to beer drinking... ;>)
