Day 1 - Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale

I decided, in a truly ephanistic birthday moment today, that for the next year I would drink a different beer every day just for fun. So for the next 365 days, I'll be striving to meet the challenge this presents, and documenting it here. I knew this was a worthy goal when my recently turned 21 year old son sent me the text "that is the coolest thing you've done in years...". My ever practical daughter (as long as it isn't she that needs to be so), pointed out that I could spend around $1,000 on this. Pfft, the parade goes on!
My initial thought for the first one was to wax nostalgic, and go with the first beer I ever drank. While not exactly positive, I seemed to recall it was a Schlitz. I got over that mood quickly, and settled on:

Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale - " Tempered over burning witches"

Brewed by Black Sheep Brewery in Rochester NY.

While this is more a spiritual pilgrimage than a quest, the name sold me, and was why it was chosen to be the first.

It has a nice amber color, was light on the hops, and overall, an easy drink. I tend like my beer with a little more personality, but if you like yours with a bit more flavor than most of the name brands (must be what the burning witches add...), and get a kick out of the name like I did, then it isn't a bad choice.

I bought 7 other beers today, mostly from around the world. I'm open to recommendations, and even better, donations. I'll give special mention to those who support the cause... ;>)
