Back in Herndon, leaving a few of a very good pipeline at brother Ned's, and returning to a very limited selection. However, a 2nd one from this brewer, after a decent first, left hope for some level of decency...Black, creamy texture in the mouth, and solid roasted malt flavor while not being presumptuous means it achieved that expectation. It's not a palie, of which I have been spoiled on lately, but still far and away supreme over any frubee.

Maybe not a great beer on a hot summer day, but then, it's smoothness would allow for some flexibility in other seasons, and perhaps as an after-dinner beer late around a campfire, it might work. Maybe someone out there actually has a life, and could try..... ;>)
